A. The United States presidential election of 1852 was in many ways a replay of the election of 1844. Once again, the incumbent President was a Whig who had succeeded to the presidency upon the death of his war hero predecessor; in this case, it was Millard Fillmore who followed General Zachary Taylor. The Whig party passed over the incumbent for nomination casting aside Fillmore in favor of General Winfield Scott. The Democrats nominated a "dark horse" candidate, this time Franklin Pierce. The Whigs again campaigned on the obscurity of the Democratic candidate, and once again this strategy failed. Pierce and running mate William King would go on to win what was at the time one of the nation's largest electoral victories, trouncing Scott… [cont.]

A. You forget that Republicans have been training for the last 10 years on how to scare the public. They do not need or want any REAL issues because that would take away from the Fear Factor they want to create. All you have to do is look at the questions here to see what I am talking about.

What are the Moral and Ethical issues with teenage binge drinking?
Q. As the question states, what are the moral and ethical issues with teenage binge drinking and why is it an issue? What are your thoughts? sorry forgot to add, im not saying drinking is bad just im curious (for a school assignment) as to what the ethics behind it are. I'm not talking about a drink or two when people go out but an overload of drinks to get purposely drunk

A. Binge drinking at any age is not recommended, and those that are younger, are more likely to lead a very different life if they get stuck in a culture of excessive drinking at an early age. In the Uk, it is all too common, and out drinking laws are a little more relaxed than those in the USA, which can make it much easier to obtain drink. Generally this behaviour falls into two areas, it is harmful only to the individual and they have to suffer the consequences alone, or it turns into anti-social behaviour that then affects others, sometime leaving innocent victims of violence.
